Basildon Sporting Village will be the best sports facility in the East of England. The Sporting Village will provide first class sports, leisure and education facilities at Gloucester Park, in the heart of the town.

It will be a sporting hub for the community, providing modern, ‘state of the art’ facilities for local people and others from across the region. It will be affordable and accessible to all sections of the community, from casual users to elite athletes.

The new facility will be located immediately to the west of the current Athletics Track.

The Sporting Village will include various facilities, including a 50 metre international sized swimming pool, multi purpose sports hall and health and fitness suite.

The facility is set to open in 2010 and has every chance of being used as 2012 training venue for Olympic and Paralympic athletes!
